Time for a Change?

Hi! If you follow us on social media, you’ve noticed that South Hills Wellness Group has gone through a pretty big change this summer. We moved into a new space and it feels fantastic!

Like most change, this one didn’t come without its fair share of uncertainty. Would the location be the best fit for our clients? Would people feel comfortable in this new space? Is it easy to find? Can we afford it? Those are just some of the questions we had to grapple with.

After a lot of back and forth, it became clear that we would just have to take the leap. We listened to our gut instincts and jumped! So far, we have gotten tons of positive feedback about the move. We are forever grateful for friends, family, and clients who continue to support and motivate us.

This move got me thinking about the idea of change in our lives. How often does a change seems scary – even impossible – and turns out to be the best thing that could have happened? And what allows us to make changes? That certain intangible feeling that leads us where we need to go.

Call it your gut, a hunch, an instinct, a pulling, a pushing; whatever you call it, we all have a voice that supports us through change. The problem happens when that voice becomes clouded by self-doubt, fear, shame, guilt, and becomes completely silent.

Fortunately, there are ways to awaken your instinct when you’re not able to hear it. This requires attention and compassion. It requires that you slow down and get back in touch with yourself. Some simple ways to do this could include journaling, meditating, taking a walk outside, paying attention to nature, or setting aside a few minutes to just focus on your breath.

Of course, life isn’t always so simple and finding your gut instinct may be more complicated. Maybe you are facing an unwanted change and you’re feeling like you have no control. Or maybe it’s a change you know in your heart you should make but for some reason you’re stuck. If you are facing a change that feels difficult and you have lost your inner guide, we’d love the opportunity to help. Paying attention to your instinct can lead to some awesome changes and get you closer to living the life you deserve.

Be Well!
